I am a huge fan of wisteria and always look forward to them appearing in spring. Therefore it is probably no surprise that this wisteria bottle is one of my favourites.
Gathering inspiration for my pattern collections
This week I thought I’d share with you, how I gather inspiration for my pattern collections.
I’ve really made a deep dive into pattern design in the last week. I’ve been gathering more inspiration for my patterns and looking at the artwork that I’ve created the last months (or years…). And I’ve started to pick up again where I left off on this surface pattern design journey.
Non-floral custom product painting & perfume illustrations
I am always experimenting with new painting designs. And it was time to come up with some designs for clients or customers who would like to have a design that was not floral in nature.
So I sat down and experimented with my paints and got inspired by the beautiful perfume bottles and product packaging that surrounded me.
The possibilities are endless when it comes to the designs. And I want to begin by sharing just a few. These designs are perfect for both in-studio and events live on-site.
Hand-painting on beauty products
One of the bespoke services that I offer at Zamavi Prints is that I hand-paint products or packaging and turn them into treasured keepsakes.
These keepsakes can range from bottles, perfumes, boxes, leather, wood or metal products etc.
Floral perfume illustrations
Since creating my first perfume illustration, I have wanted to marry my love for flowers with my love for perfume illustrations. And now that I have done it, I am so glad I did!
It was so interesting to see how different perfume bottle designs are for women and men. Sketching out the different bottle designs was therefore a lot of fun as they varied so much. And the colour choices for the female and male bottle designs were also so versatile. So it was really inspiring to experiment with different colour palettes!
It is my dream to create some of these illustrations for a magazine as a spot or editorial illustration, for a perfume brand etc. for an advertisement. Or even perform this skill live at a live event for a beauty brand!
