I created a special hand-painted bottle for my grandmother in honour of her 93rd birthday. It is a beautiful egg liqueur bottle which I embellished with cherry blossoms and gold leaf speckles.
Here it is – the jubilee egg liqueur bottle in all its glory!
My grandmother loves egg liqueur. And asked my father to gift her a bottle from her favourite brand on her birthday. My father then asked me if I wanted to hand paint the bottle, which I happily said yes to!
So I sat down and started working on a spring and cherry blossom inspired bottle.
My grandmother loves the colour pink and therefore the colour was a natural choice. And as her birthday is in April, celebrating spring with this bottle seemed very appropriate too.
Behind the house my grandmother had lived most of her life in, there is also a beautiful and giant cherry tree. This tree often blooms in April, right around my grandmother’s birthday.
My grandmother has left this house and now lives with my parents. Because of that, I thought it would be nice to pay tribute to her birthday, this old house with the cherry tree and her love for pink.
So I painted six beautiful cherry blossoms in two different colours – a light pink and a darker pink. I then also added some petals blowing away in the wind to create movement and also some blue dots. The cherry blossoms received some green leaves as company. And as a last step, I adorned the bottle with gold leaf speckles to make it extra special.
How do you like the jubilee bottle?
